WebP to GIF Converter
Some platforms, email clients, and older tools still don't accept WebP. Drop your WebP images here and get GIF files back — with transparency kept or a white background, at original size or resized. Everything happens in your browser; your images are never uploaded.

Static images only: if you upload an animated WebP, only the first frame is converted. GIF supports at most 256 colors, so photos may look slightly flatter than the original WebP — for photos, keep the original WebP when you can.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why convert WebP to GIF?
GIF is the oldest widely supported image format on the web. Some email clients, forum avatars, stickers, and older software accept GIF but not WebP. Converting gives you a file that works everywhere, at the cost of a larger file and a 256-color palette.
Does this converter keep transparency?
Yes, when “Transparent” is selected. Transparent pixels in your WebP stay transparent in the GIF. If you pick “White”, transparent areas are composited onto a white background instead.
Can I convert animated WebP to animated GIF?
Not with this tool — it converts the first frame only. Animated WebP to animated GIF needs frame-by-frame decoding, which browsers don't expose directly. For a single still image, use this converter.
Why does my GIF look slightly different from the WebP?
GIF supports at most 256 colors per image, while WebP supports millions. Flat graphics, logos, and illustrations usually convert cleanly; photographs with smooth gradients may show banding. That is a limit of the GIF format itself, not of this converter.
Is there a file size limit?
No hard limit, but very large images (above ~4000 px on a side) can take a few seconds to encode, because every pixel is quantized to the 256-color palette in your browser.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion runs 100% in your browser. Your images never leave your device, and nothing is stored on a server.
Is this WebP to GIF converter free?
Yes — completely free, no signup, no watermark, no limits on the number of images.
