Etsy Listing Image Resizer

Etsy recommends listing photos at 2700×2025 pixels (4:3), or at least 2000px wide. The first photo becomes your search thumbnail, so a bad crop can cost you clicks. This free tool checks every photo, crops and resizes the whole batch to Etsy size, shows you the thumbnail before you upload, and renames files with SEO keywords — without opening Canva or Photoshop. Everything runs in your browser; images never leave your device.

Drop listing photos here or click to choose files

JPG, PNG, WebP — multiple files OK. First file = listing thumbnail.

Files become handmade-ceramic-mug-1.jpg, handmade-ceramic-mug-2.jpg, and so on. Leave blank to keep sanitized original names.

New filenames

Add photos and keywords to see filenames.
Good to know: Keep the product centered and leave a little margin in the original photo — Cover mode crops the edges to reach 4:3. If a tall or wide photo gets an awkward crop, switch that photo to Contain, or re-shoot with the product in the middle.

How to Resize Etsy Listing Images

  1. Add your photos — drop them in or click to choose. The first photo is your thumbnail, so check it first.
  2. Check the badges — OK means 2000px+ wide and already ~4:3. Needs crop means it will be cropped to 4:3. Too small means upscaling will look soft — re-shoot if you can.
  3. Fix the crop — click a photo, then click on the preview (or use the focal-point sliders) to keep the product in frame.
  4. Name with keywords — type your product keywords once, e.g. handmade ceramic mug, and every file gets a clean SEO name.
  5. Download — Download All gives you one resized JPG per photo. Upload them to Etsy in order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should Etsy listing images be?

Etsy recommends 2700×2025 pixels (a 4:3 ratio) for listing photos, and at least 2000px on the wide side. This tool defaults to 2700×2025 and also offers 2000×1500 for smaller files. Both are 4:3, so they display the same way on Etsy.

Is 2700×2025 better than 2000px wide?

Yes, if your original is large enough. 2700×2025 gives sharper zoom and looks better on retina screens. If your original is only just over 2000px wide, 2000×1500 avoids upscaling and keeps the file smaller. The badge on each photo tells you which case you are in.

Will upscaling a small image help?

No — upscaling cannot add detail. If a photo is under 2000px wide, resizing it to 2700×2025 will look soft or blurry when buyers zoom in. The tool flags these as “Too small” so you can re-shoot the photo instead of hoping an upscale will fix it.

Does the filename help Etsy SEO?

A descriptive filename can help a little — search engines can read filenames, and clean names like handmade-ceramic-mug-1.jpg are better than IMG_4821.jpg. The listing title, tags, and description matter far more, so treat filenames as a small bonus, not a ranking trick.

Do my images leave my device?

No. Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to any server — you can verify this by turning off your Wi-Fi after the page loads and watching the tool still work.

Is this tool affiliated with Etsy?

No. This is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Etsy, Inc. “Etsy” is a trademark of Etsy, Inc.
